Spring is in the air

The tempertures are getting higher and it is so much fun to see the surprises of nature in and around our garden. And because we moved here in the snow we had no idea what would be underneath it all. 

We have tulips in our garden. And if you know me, you know I love tulips. 

And the children had a week holiday. One afternoon we went to the lake to blow the dandelions.

And besides my normal lenses, which I took the above images with, I also took my lensbaby so I could play. The images below are taken with my lensbaby. It has a tilt shift lens. It is such a fun creative process.

It is a steep way down to the lake and quite a way up. Niels didnt' want to tow his scooter with his hands. He found his way to take it up the hill. 

Almost ready...

Ok so the container has arrived. My new studio is nearly ready. Ideas are floating in my head. Business cards with new Russian contact details are almost done. So watch this space... I am about to reveal my plans... and they include women...families, new born babies....etc... And as well studio work as location shoots. 

week 52 project - week 10 "close-up"

Yesterday we went on a long walk through the forrest close to our home. Our container has arrived (yeah!) and we needed a break from unpacking boxes. I took my camera. It was so beautiful. The weather was great. Sunny and a bit cold but not too much.

The first shot I took was this one from the sky. 

Not really a close-up ;-) but I still want to share. I like the blue sky and the trees. And here is a close-up. The days are becoming a bit warmer and so the snow is starting to melt.

And here is another close up. I played with it a bit. Converted it to black and white, and added some texture. It is so much fun to play... I like the placement of the branches, the lines.

I love close ups. You can draw the attention into the image to where you want people to look first.

Check out the snow...

I love snow. I haven't seen it in a long time. Since we have lived in the tropics for the last 10 years. It has something magical to me.

In the snow

Well here are finally some images of us in the snow. It is cold but very well do-able with our winter clothes bought in Dubai. This week the temperture reached -37 degres. Apperently that is very cold for here as well. We still wallked to school that day and were fine.

Sofie and Niels are enjoying themselves playing outside in the snow. Fleur finds it too cold to play and tends to be more inside. 

Moscow | see beauty

We have arrived in Moscow. From the warm (plus 30 degrees) to the cold (minus 20 degrees). We are in a bit of a crappy appartment, but since I like to focus on beauty...I will show you some images I made. And it is like my friend on facebook says: You have a choice, every morning when you wake up.... Are u gonna have a good day or a bad day? I think we have to chose to have a good day. What do you say? It's your choice, every morning.... You are so right G. and that is my choice, having a good day. 

And the house we move in later this week (please keep your fingers crossed, it will be this week;-) looks great. So things will get better. Hopefully the airfreight will arrive soon so we can camp in the house till the sea freight arrives.

We went to the shops and bought some Russian chocolate.

Niels found it very interesting that the aircondition machine is warm ;-).

And we are very happy our cat made it to Moscow as well. It took quite some time to arrage all the paperwork in the Netherlands...but she is here.
