Russian mini session weekend - meet the S. Family

It was kind of funny because mum absolutely hates to have her picture taken. But her lovely daughter E. saw my ad for the mini sessions and wanted to have some family pictures. I love it that someone sees the value of having pictures taken during their life. Life is so short and you never know what is going to happen next. And taking snap shots or pictures yourself is great but having you all in the picture is invaluable. So let's celebrate that. Let's mark this moment in time. Remember yesterday, dream of tomorrow but live today. Today as is...

I remember the day she told me she was pregnant with baby nr. 3. We were at the tailor where I had  some maternity clothes change into 'normal' clothes. I just had our third child, a boy. Mr. L. didn't have an easy start. He was born too early. His dad kept us posted on everything from the beginning. 

Recently he had an operation that will make him able to walk by himself before the age of 5. He has the best support around him that anyone can think of. He is adored by his sisters and of course by his parents and friends. I had some thankful, happy tears running over my face when his mum asked me to take some images. I love to be part in the process of seeing Mr. L. walking. 

As I said on facebook already. This last image reflects family for me. This is what family is all about: to create a safe haven for your children. A place where you can be you. A little world of it's own in this big world.

Last week I met this lovely family on the beach. It was Mr. A's birthday and they brought these wonderful bikes. I had a great time. It was really hard to choose which images to show because I love them all.

Ah.. I will miss families like these when I leave Oman. Thanks L. for contacting me, it was such a pleasure meeting you and the men in your family ;-).

And the sun came out... | family photographer Oman

After a few days with rain I was worried if the sun would come out on Friday. On Thursday I went to the location to check if it was damaged or muddy. Luckily it all looked good. And on Friday the sun didn't disappoint us (it is Oman after all ;-)). This session was a birthday gift. And what a lovely gift to give. A memory in time that you will never forget. I loved the location and this family. They were so much fun to work with. I kept saying ok one more....one more...

After many years living in the beautiful Sultanate of Oman, they are moving to Canada. From the heat to the cold. We are sad to see them leave.

Family...it's great to have your family around especially during the Christmas holidays. Due to my husbands work we were unable to go to the Netherlands this year. I sure missed my family, the snow and the cold weather. On the other hand, it was nice to be here as well. We had some family and friends over and enjoyed the free days. 

Speaking about families; luckily this family was able to spend the holidays together despite the closing of some of the European airports because of the snow. It will most probably be their last Christmas holiday in Oman. So it was a wonderful idea to capture some images of them together here in this beautiful country. They have lived in Oman before so they have quite some history here. The dad is a very good photographer himself, but he had to be in the pictures as well...

Two boys and a girl...

We went to the park. Two boys and a girl. N. had his birthday party the night before, so he was in the beginning a little bit in the - do we really need to do this - mode. But he was a trooper for doing it and I think he even had fun in the end... well sort of ;-). And oh my... what a handsome boy he is... 

And Miss R.is such a beauty. Those beautiful brown eyes, they melt your heart. And it so funny the blue eyes in N. and than those dark brown eyes of Miss R. We have the same in our family.

And then Mr. R. He is so cute.

We played pirates and space somethings ;-). 

Holiday Season Sessions | Muscat Oman

On a very early friday morning I had the joy to meet this nice family. Their identical 16 month old twin boys were so cute. And they must have the most loved dog here in Oman. It was really nice to photograph them.

I am slowing down because of the upcoming holidays. If you think of a session please contact me. It might not be possible in December anymore, but I still have a few spots in January. 

Winter time | Muscat Oman

Here are few of a lovely early! morning holiday season session. The weather was and still is great. I love the 'winter' here in Oman. The lens doesn't' fog and not too much sweating is going on ;-). And having this lovely family in front of my camera helps with getting out of bed so early. I have taken their images before. It's so nice to see the children get bigger in front of my lens. 

I like the color combinations. All in whites with jeans. This really works to create contemporary images. 

Such a Pleasure

It was such a pleasure to photograph these children/young adults. I have two girls and a boy myself, the same as in this family. Mine are much younger but I hope that my kids are getting along as nice as they do when they get older. They interact in a great way. It really shows they love each other. Mom (and dad) you did a great job raising them. Thanks for letting me capture you. And I am sorry I had to let you wait for some time to see this sneak peek.  

This could almost be in a magazine. Such beautiful girls (inside and out!). If I need models in the future, I will give you a call ;-).
